Sr. QA Engineer

1. Purpose

The Senior QA Engineer will be a member of an Agile Team which completes Unit, Integration and System level software testing. create/execute test cases and regression test software for the various projects in the pipeline. must have knowledge of test automation and may need to automate the manual scripts upon request. This individual must possess a strong knowledge of testing processes and be able to adapt these to an Agile Development Model.

2. Duties & Responsibilities

1. Participate in discussions with Architects and Engineers in order to understand business requirements.

2. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on project specific information.

3. Develop acceptance test criteria for quality assurance

4. Implement the appropriate testing strategies

5. Develop test cases, test scripts in Quality Center and execute software testing

6. Conduct test case reviews to ensure scenarios accurately capture business functionality

7. Perform Integration Testing between application and external application/data sources as applicable

8. Identify and create test data needed for test execution

9. Use in house defect tracking systems to record, report and track defects

10. Perform tests to ensure the requirements are fully met in an efficient manner

11. Work with development team to resolve defects

12. Report test status

13. Recommend/extend Testing best practices

14. Other duties as assigned

3. Qualifications and Experience

1. Education/Training

- BS in Computer Science or MIS.

2. Knowledge

- Excellent command of written and spoken English

- Thorough understanding of SQL Enterprise Manager and proficient with SQL

Queries

- The ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through from start to completion with

minimal supervision

- Ability to write Test Plans, Test Scripts and Test Summary reports

- Conduct walkthroughs with functional and technical personnel

- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment

- Must be able to handle multiple priorities at the same time

- Proficient in testing processes, standards and methodologies

- Ability to understand existing data models and database structures

- Ability to initiate performance testing activities for specific projects

3. Experience

- 6+ years experience in Software Quality Assurance, at least 3 years as a senior

tester

- 2+ years experience with testing tools, preferably Quality Center and Quick Test Pro

- Strong Experience working with SQL Server database

- Experience with Defect Tracking tools
